Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive technique used for abdominal diagnostics and surgery. Large optical systems with diameters of 5 or 10 mm and powerful LED light sources are used to visualise the abdomen or thoracic cavity during thoracoscopy.

SPiTZ Vet Care offers a range of laparoscopic endoscopes and instrument sets for procedures such as biopsies and minimally invasive surgeries like castration in dogs.

The advantages of laparoscopy over conventional open laparotomy include faster patient recovery due to smaller cuts, lower post-operative morbidity, fewer infections and less post-operative pain.
